Dear Friends,
As we conclude a year marked by intensive activity, national responsibility, and a profound commitment to human life, Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh) has continued to operate daily on the front lines of Israel’s public healthcare system – delivering care, advancing research, training future medical professionals, and strengthening the resilience of the healthcare system during a period of significant national challenge.
We wish to share with you a glimpse of the extensive work carried out over the past year:
the development of advanced medical services, the expansion of centers of excellence, the enhancement of patient experience, and the deepening of our connection with the community we serve. None of this would be possible without our devoted staff and without our partners and friends in Israel and around the world.
Alongside our ongoing work, we are looking ahead to several major projects that will shape the future of public healthcare for years to come – projects that will impact our ability to meet national needs and secure the long-term future of the hospital:
- The establishment of the new Helmsley Oncology Institute – an advanced, multidisciplinary center integrating treatment, research, and personalized medicine under one roof.
- The National Limb Reconstruction Unit – we seek for a gift that will allow us to purchase an advanced surgical microscope that will enable innovative, life-changing procedures for wounded soldiers and civilians.
- The establishment of a National Center of Excellence for Biological Intelligence and Multidimensional Medicine – a center designed to move beyond traditional sequencing limitations and shift from reactive medicine to truly multidimensional medicine.
- Our flagship project: the construction of a new Emergency Department complex and hospitalization tower – a national initiative that will strengthen emergency preparedness, address the region’s anticipated population growth, and ensure advanced and secure medical care for decades to come.
These projects require significant investment, planning, and broad partnership. We are currently working intensively to secure the necessary resources to bring them to fruition, driven by a deep belief that investing in Shamir Medical Center is an investment in the resilience of Israeli society as a whole.
