Israel at war: an emergency situation at the Shamir Medical Center

On October 7, Saturday morning, the murderous terrorist attack by Hamas on the settlements surrounding Gaza began, and this at the same time as a rocket attack on more than half of the State of Israel.

The Shamir Medical Center began to provide a medical response with the outbreak of the ‘Iron Swords’ war, taking in 24 prisoners of war and about 370 war wounded of various degrees of severity. The victims received life-saving treatments, were transferred to the operating rooms, which worked non-stop, to intensive care and the various hospitalization wards.

During the emergency, the answer is given on the minus four floor, which is protected and where about 150 patients can be hospitalized. The hospital is in the midst of a process of protecting 3 additional areas in which there are 214 more beds. In addition, the hospital prepared for the rapid completion of emergency equipment for the treatment of trauma victims in the emergency room and in the operating rooms.
