The Association of Friends of the Shamir Medical Center invites you to join us in the Association of Friends and be part of the philanthropic leadership circle of the Shamir Medical Center. The association helps the hospital by raising public support and donations from the country and around the world. The donations help to purchase life-saving medical equipment, investment in the development and training of the medical teams, expansion and construction of operating rooms and treatment rooms and construction of new buildings according to the master plan
approved for the development of the hospital and government decisions from 2016, following which the center will become the largest hospital in Israel and provide a response to one and a half million residents.
Today, more than ever, the growing medical center needs friends and friendships that will support the development and expansion of the infrastructure and the promotion of the excellent human capital of the hospital.

What payment methods can be used to donate?
Donations to all projects can be made in a variety of ways and means of payment:
- via bank transfer
- by credit card payment
- by check
- via pay pal
How do you join the Shamir Friends Association?
In order to join the Friends of Shamir Association, you must perform three simple actions: choose the amount of the donation, fill in basic personal details and make the payment using one of the payment methods offered – it is not clear what the difference is between joining the association and membership in the Shamir Medical Center Supporters Forum
What does membership in the Friends Association mean?
Donations of NIS 5,000 or more to the Times Foundation or to other selected projects buy membership in the Shamir Medical Center supporters forum. The forum – which includes representatives of the business and public leadership of the State of Israel along with the management of the medical center – gathers several times a year together with senior doctors at the hospital for updates and direct dialogue on breakthrough medicine, innovation in medicine, creating collaborations to promote the growth and development of the hospital.
Membership in the forum is personal and as a couple
The members are invited to the Friends Association events and receive a regular newsletter
Is my donation secure?
The association is careful to manage the site in a careful, professional and skilled manner while controlling and taking accepted precautions and all in order to maintain, as much as possible, the confidentiality of the information provided by the customer. The secure payment form complies with the PCI standard, the strictest international security standard for protecting your credit information. And the association undertakes not to make use of the details of the customers registered on the website, except for the needs of operating the website only, and in order to enable the making of donations.
Can I choose which project to support?
of course. At the Friends of Shamir Association, we are aware of the desire of each donor to contribute to a project or department dear to his heart and to promote groundbreaking and life-saving medicine in various ways. The Timeless fund is intended for the purchase of life-saving equipment, the MLRD project and hospital building will enable the expansion and equipping of the Shamir Medical Center’s triage and hospital buildings and bringing them to an international level, our other selected projects are the oncology department, the maternity department and the internal departments. You can donate to any of the departments in the hospital by mentioning the name of the department and we will make sure that the donation reaches its destination.
What is the Times Foundation?
The Timeless Fund is a donation fund available to the hospital management for emergency situations in which an immediate budget for life-saving equipment is required. In the years that have passed since its establishment, many devices have been purchased that cost between tens and hundreds of thousands of shekels and all of them have been used to save lives in their quality. Donors to the fund will be updated at the end of each year regarding the equipment that was purchased and saved lives
Are the donations tax exempt?
The Society of Friends of the Shamir Medical Center (ID 580020683) is recognized as a public institution by the Income Tax and is approved for the needs of special or large donations according to Section 46 (a) of the Income Tax Ordinance.
